About Us

We have a beautiful, state-of-the art facility located in the lower level of the Lawrenceville Shopping Center. The entrance to our parking lot is from 55th Street with parking spaces right outside our door. We are only a few traffic lights down from the 62nd street bridge so there is convenient access to Route 28 and the surrounding neighborhoods across the Allegheny River.

Our Values

Trust

We discuss all reasonable options for diagnostics and treatment to help you make the best decisions about your pet’s care.

Integrity

We are open, honest, and up-front about your pet’s prognosis, necessity of diagnostics, success of treatment, and all relevant costs. The recommendations we make for your pets are the same ones we would follow for our own furry family members.

Quality

We have the best staff, facilities, and equipment to take care of your little loved ones. The team continuously pursues educational opportunities to aid in our professional growth so we can provide your pets with the best possible care options.

Love

We anticipate meeting you and your pets so we can find out what makes them unique and special. Our team of veterinary professionals will do our best to make sure your pets’ visits are as stress-free as possible. We want our clients to keep coming back because the more we know your little ones, the better we can care for them.

Michael Mansfield, VMD

Dr. Mansfield is a Pittsburgh native who graduated from North Hills High School. From there, he attended Allegheny College in Meadville where he obtained a bachelor’s degree, with honors, in biology and minors in chemistry and French. After college, he was off to Philadelphia where he attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.  He obtained his doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2001.

After graduating, Dr. Mansfield returned to Pittsburgh where he worked several years for the Veterinary Emergency Clinic, the precursor to today’s Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (PVSEC). After working in Pittsburgh, he spent a decade working as an emergency veterinarian in San Diego, CA. As it is for so many of us Pittsburghers, the call to return home was too great and he settled back in the area in 2017 to be closer to family. After spending several years as an associate in a local practice, Dr. Mansfield opened the Lawrenceville Veterinary Clinic to serve the city that he loves.
